I really wanna thank you all here at thirdgen.

I purchased my car about 8 months ago. It ran horible, no exhaust, the carbueretor would flood, fouled plugs, missing at idel, smoking etc.
I came across ThirdGen.Org and started posting questions. I've recieved so many tips, ideas, strategies and so much more.
Over the last couple months i've changed plugs, new heavier vacuum lines, new radiator hoses,i've rebuilt the carb and understand how to set it up,learned how to set timing, set valve lash, diagnose engine problems, install exhaust systems,i've learned about exhaust flow,i've learned about engine specs and how much horespower is produced and the list goes on and on.
My car now is running perfect and i just really want to thank you guys for all the support and ideas. Hopefully I will be able to provide some assistance in the coming months using the knowledge that i've gained here at thirdgen.org.

Thanks guys,
Rob

350turbo,

You really don't have to thank anyone. It sounds like YOU did all the work... But thanks for the feedback. It's always nice to know the outcome of a problem.

Since you're feeling so appreciative, all anyone can ask is that you pass along what you have learned and gained from your experiences. The next person that comes along with a "new" problem may just be getting the expert advice from you this time. That's what this place is all about.

This community has become a popular and successful place due to people like Vader, madmax, Glenn, ed, ede, Kevin91z, GMTech, Traxion, Grumpy, Drew, Willie, Steve Spohn, Stephen 87 IROC, Jester, Karps TA, JPrevost, and many many other people just like you. These are just some names I remember that helped me in the past, and continue to do so. I could probably name another 20 off of the top of my head, but I have to go take my chemistry midterm! -- thanks guys. Keep spreading the knowledge!

Buy me a pizza and come watch me race

Passing on information is nice. I see so many new users asking the same old questions but now I don't have to give the same answers. Others now know the proper answers to the questions and the questions are already answered before I get a chance.

Those of us (named above) have been doing automotive repairs or modifications for a long time. Don't expect to know everything as soon as you buy a car. It takes years of training and experience to get to where we are. Even I still learn a lot of things when I started rebuilding my car. Learning exactly why something does what it does takes experience. There are a lot of things that a book won't teach you unless you start getting hands on training.

EDIT:
Everyone on thirdgen.org should also consider themselves lucky that there are so many of us here to offer our knowledge. I know of other web forums that refuse to answer trivial questions (not just automotive sites). If I never bought a third gen for a race car I would have never found this forum either. I was originally looking for a G-body for a race car platform.

I have got to agree. It's a bit like never telling your parents you love them because you so obiously do (if that makes sense). I haven't formally thanked y'all for all the good advice you have given.

I have learnt more for this site than I could ever have expected, this place rocks!
