Ok place to bolt ground cable strap? Coil Bracket?

Hey I got a quick yes or no question.

You know the ground strap that comes off the firewall and bolts on to the engine block?

I can't reach or even see where it bolts to the block, but I see that I can bolt the strap to the metal bracket that holds the external ignition coil. Is this an ok spot to bolt the strap too? It seems like a fair size metal bracket.

I wouldn't put it there.

I believe it bolts to the back of the cylinder head. There should be a stud threaded into the head. It should have a ground going to it already. Undo the nut and put your strap over the stud, then put the nut back on. If you don't have the grounds on the head, look in the wiring harness to find them. There should be at least one on either cylinder head. Good luck.

If you can't find the stud in the head then it must have been removed. A hex bolt with some locktight would be a suitable replacement.

I wouldn't bolt it to the coil... it could cause electrical interference.

The ground strap connects to both the firewall and the block. You should connect the large ground to the bottom of your accessories or something touching the block, if not the block itself. You needn't run it all the way to the back of the head, but if you want to that would work.
