Temp Gauge Problem
Im having a problem with my temp gauge not working. When i start the car up it moves all the way to 260 or whatever but falls back down to 100 and doesn't move while driving the car. any help apreciated thanks

It could be that you need a new coolant temp sensor that is near the water neck. Or its not connected, might be a coolant switch instead of a sending unit,or frayed wires, or a bad gauge.

If you temperature gauge never reads above 100°F, you may have a problem with the gauge sending unit or an overcooling problem, such as a stuck open thermostat. Verify the coolant temperature with a thermometer in the radiator (cap removed). If the temperature gauge is not reading correctly, the first step would be to check the temperature sending unit. Of course, teh coolant level is correct, right?
