car refuses to start!!please help
ok, i just got finished putting a new crane cam and lifter kit into my motor. i put my distributor in , hooked up the coil, and hooked up my spark plug wires. i went to start the car, but it wouldn't start. i checked my connections to make sure everything was hooked up correctly, and the car still wouldn't start. i bought a new cap and rotor, rechecked all my connections, and the car still won't start. The motor is rotating so i know it's not that. My distributor
may be installed wrong, but it's to cold in my garage to work on right now. does anyone have any suggestion on what i could do?
thanks

we need more info
have you checked for spark?
is it poping/backfiring?
are you getting fuel?
did you adjust the rocker arms?
is the distributor rotor spinning?
is your firing order right?
there are so many possibilities that we need mor info to help diagnose your problem.

there isn't any popping or back fire because there is no combustion. the motor rotates, but it dosn't fire. it's in the right firing order, i went over it three times. i believe im getting fuel because i pushed the pressure release valve on the top of the fuel rail, and fuel sprayed out. my friend said that he watched the rotor on the distributor spin while i tried to start the car. i cleaned all my grounds. i think the problem is the distributor, but im not sure, i'll mes with it whenthe weather is alittle warmer.
i'd say your next step is to pull a plug and see if you are getting spark. if not, go over everything and make sure you have everything hitched up right. if you do have spark, check to make sure you are getting fuel. i'm not to familiar with tpi, but i do believe the fuel rail can be pressurized by the pump. the engine might still not have fuel because the injectors might not be plugged in or working.

I know you said the firing order is correct, but just make sure your not 180 deg. off, firing on end of exhaust stroke instead of end of compression stroke.
This can happen if you turn the crank to line up with 0 deg. with the timing pointer, but don't check which stroke you are on.
Pull out the #1 plug and install a compression tester. Bump the starter until you just start to see compression. Then remove the tester and manually finish turning the crank until the timing pointer is pointing at the 0 mark on the harmonic balancer.
Now pull off your distributer cap and make sure that the rotor is pointing to #1.
This is of course assuming that you are actually getting spark, just at the wrong time.

So what we've got here is a motor that cranks, but no evidence of trying to start. This means you're missing fuel or spark, you can look at the timing later. You say you have fuel pressure, but are the injectors firing? Try some starting fluid in the throttle body to see if it does anything, this should tell you whether or not fuel is a problem. You still need to check for spark if the starting fluid does nothing. What parts have not been replaced or are very old?
