Whats the problem? Starter, battery?

My battery is dying over-night. Sometimes when I turn the key it takes about 2 seconds, then itll start to crank slow, then get faster and startup. The other day the battery was low. I turned the key and pow, everything went dead. When I jump it, as soon as the cables hit my battery, everything lights up and it starts right up. My starter haqs spun without engaging a couple times in the last few weeks. I know its a bit chaotic, but those are the symptoms. It runs fine when started. The alt. is fine. The battery shows over 12v after running the car. Starter, batt., ecm? Thanks for the help.

Well, definitely not the ECM..first clean all the battery cnnections, both at the battery and on the block, check the hot cable to the starter as well...look in the ends for corrosion, replace as needed, make sure the hot side is on good and tight on the starter.

Assuming all is okay above, head into just about any discount AP store and have them load test the battery, and test the Alt output. Both okay? Probably starter time.

Yeah, yeah, solenoid could be the cause, but who just replaces a solenoid only these days?

Replace the battery. You said it starts right up when jumped, so that's your problem.
