OVer heat fixed Thanx!!

Well I posted last week about an overheating problem, and just thought I would post the outcome. The car was running hot when you drove it but not at idle. It would boil after about 8 blocks of driving. At first we thought it was missing the coil spring in the lower radiator hose until after contating the dealer they said the lower hose never had a coil in it??? But the shop opened the cap and saw tons of bubbles!!! Turns out the geniuses at the parts store sold me the wrong water pump wich was running backwards for the old style V belt sytems. So we got an AC Delco (ouch $$$) water pump to be sure and she doesn't even get to 220* now. I think Kregan ows me $270.00!!! Plus my $30 back for the crap pump!!!

DP,

Thanks for the update on the outcome. It's always good to hear how something works out. You really have to watch the pump rotation. Either pump will move at least a LITTLE coolant in either direction, but not enough to cool effectively.

This rotation difference, and the chance of getting an erroded or undersized impeller on a remanufactured pump is another good reason to remove the pump inspection cover before installing any replacement pump. They're all the same on the outside.

I belive it should be correct as long as you are using the same pully system as with the origianl motor.
