Quick heater bypass help!!

Alright, I'm taking the car on a trip tomm. and want to bypass the heater just to save myself from any potential problems. Where do I have to splice the hoses? What size pipe should I use to link the two together? I need to do this in a school parking lot without a jack, so any ideas are appreciated...

Thanks,
Mike

I'd buy two pipe plugs for where the hoses come out of the water pump and manifold. The hoses are different sizes so you can't just splice them together. Make sure you use teflon tape or liquid sealer.

Then just get two plastic plumbers pipe end covers to slip over the pipes in the firewall. It's not pressurized there.

I'm not sure I'd plug the hoses unless you have a functioning hot water valve (1988 and later).

There needs to be some coolant flow to the back of the right head to prevent hot spots.

thanks guys, I just got it. I took the hoses off the firewall and spliced them together with a brass fitting. The first time didn't take so well though, I accidentaly blew coolant all over the school parking lot. The second time seemed to work a lot better...
