New valve seals.

My car starts after a long crank like 4 sec and when it starts I get white smoke from the exhaust. Can any one please recommend some good valve seals and what I need to do it? Just a set of new valve seals or is there any other part I should get?

If it was me I would go to the parts store and get what is susposed to be on it...........It will have O'ring, Umbrella, Postive Type seals........and you will also need a valve spring compressor........

You'd better check the color of the smoke again... white smoke is coolant, blue smoke would be oil.

If it's a white puff on startup then I suspect you have a leaking head gasket once the block cools down.

Make sure and then post back

constant white smoke is a leaky head gasket... the smoke will also have a burnt coolant smell to it... don't breath too deep
:lala:

I don't know what the humidity in Bahrain is like but make sure it's not just condensation in the exhaust system.

"Blue smoke" can look white to you if you haven't seen both. It isn't blue like the hyperlinks on this webpage. Make sure you can tell the diff. before you draw a conclusion re. whether it's oil or coolant!

I would refer you to GM corporate bulletin #136007. This bulletin addresses blueish white smoke at startup. There is a service kit available under GM part # 12511890. This kit incorporates a positive type umbrella seal with what they call a "viton" insert. This TSB supercedes all previous bulletins in regard to this problem and covers all vehicles with a 5.7 liter engine. Good Luck, Danno
