price for 406 smallblock?
price for 406 smallblock?
I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I've got a 74 400 smallbock that is fresh from the machine shop, still tagged. bored .030, honed, align honed, tanked, magnafluxed for cracks, all threads chased. it is a 2-bolt block. I also have the crank, rods and pistons for it. I am wanting to sell it. Does $700 seem like a reasonable price? or is it too steep? what do you guys see them selling for? thanks, guys

once you talk machine work you will normally have 700+ in it
but.. it is normally bored to match your needed piston to wall clearance. Buying a prebored block, you don't have that option.
Take your pistons to them and find out what clearance you will endup with. If its not in the the .002 to .004 range I would pass.
