NEED HELP FAST PLEASE!!!! No Juice to starter

My car does nothing when you turn the key. Everything else works, including the fuel pump. I have juice to the alternator and the car turns over when i run a hot wire across the solenoid. So, somewhere between the ignition and the starter solenid I am losing juice---any ideas fellas? My car is stuck in school parking lot.

Ring,

There is a starter enable relay in the left kick panel area of some cars. I'm not sure what years. if your VATS is preventing you from starting, the light should be flashing continuously. Turn the key to "RUN" without cranking it and observe teh light. What's happening?

GMTech has a great overview of the system on his site: http://www.sethirdgen.org/vats.htm

Vader,

Is the starter enable relay and the starter relay the same thing.

Could the starter relay be the cause of my car clicking a few times before it starts???

Vader,
I do not have a light anymore--I have custom gauges installed. I took out the lock cylinder and it appears that one of the wires was broken, unless I broke it taking the cylinder out. Anyway, using the tech article to bypass the VATS, can i just put the resistor in bewteen the two wires that go to the lock cylinder? In other words, can i take the two wires off of the cylinder and then just solder the resistor in between the two wires, connecting them through the resistor and therefore bypassing the lock cylinder all together?
Thanks
Tim
