Pistin ring Problems...PLEASE help?!?!

My lo3 block has just been plate honed and now they are telling me from speed pro (and several other places) that they are not making those rings anymore because there is not a demand. If I put the original size back in I will have blow-by and SERIOUS power loss. That would defeat my whole purpose of theis project I am doing. If anyone has any of these or knows where I can get them It would be GREATLY appreciated. They are file fit 305 rings 5 over. Thanks in advance.

ERock,

Have you tried the dealer parts counter? There may be a dealer somewhere in the network that has some on his shelves. NAPA?

You may have to go +0.020 and get new pistons and rings, not just +.005 rings. You DO realize that the 229 CI V-6 has the same size pistons, right? Just a thought.

P.S. - I had really bad luck the last time I honed up and used +.005 rings on standard pistons. I'm getting blowby less than 4,000 miles later, but that was just me.

Vader,

I did not know the V6 is the same size. I was actualy thinking of just doing the whole 30 over, but I have so much money in the cam, lifters, springs, Valves, head work, TBI, still hunting for injectors, and tranny, that I could not afford more machining and pistins and all the labor. I thought this might save me some money as I have to have the car running in 2 WEEKS!! I will keep looking.
