3rd gen TPI vs 4th gen SFI
3rd gen TPI vs 4th gen SFI
Everyone praises the ls1 and think it's the hottest thing going.I have no dought about that but how would our TPI perform if it were put on an LS1 .I am curious to see what numbers it would put up.Was the 3rd gen induction technology more advanced then the engine technology.Just something that i was thinking of.

Unlikely anyone will ever know. The LS1 is so vastly different, it might as well be from another manufacturer. But, as comparison, the TPI will promote more low RPM TQ and the LS1 intake would promote higher RPM HP. Not quite as dramatic as LT1 vs TPI though.
The LS1 makes good power into the 6000s of rpms, while the tpi dies off over 1000 rpm before that. This means putting tpi on would make it slow if it was possible.
And the LS1 is the hottest n/a production thing going imho.

maybe i'm wrong, but isn't the main reason that LS1's make so much power due to the exceptional flow capactiy of there top end? Being that a major setback of the TPI is competely running out of breathe at ~5000 rpms, i would tend to think that the LS1 intake flows better....
maybe i'm completely off base here?
