Biggest problems anyone has encountered by a bad MAF?

Hard starting, rough idle usually throws a code or two. Do not rule out the relays, usually have two for MAF. Power and burnoff relays. With engine running tap the relays with the handle of a screwdriver. If engine idle changes suspect them. Don't mess around, replace them both if they are original. Dealer cost is less than 40 bucks. If relays are OK you can use the same procedure for the sensor itself. Tap the unit and see if there is reaction. Don't rule out a dirty plug either. Get a can of contact cleaner and spray the connections. LOL, Danno 89rock, 5.7
