What's the fastest N/A LT1 car you have seen??

I was just wondering what kind of potential the LT1 cars have. What is the fastest modded LT1 car you have seen (no turbo, no supercharger, no nitrous)? I'm asking because a couple kids I know are going to do some stuff to theirs and I need to make sure I can still whoop their asses after I do my new mods. Thanks.

I know mine gets about 325 @ the engine, and I would guess you could get 375+- without helpers(including stroking, or non-streetable cams).

I would work on:
heads
intake
windage
rockers
air/fuel
ignition

Your friend are probably adding:
The 'Tornado'
Split fire plugs

BTW: LT1's are kinda of pricey to mod.

A friend of mine has a 96 z28 that he got running consistant 12.6's without taking the valve covers off. He sprays 150 shot and runs mid 11's.

Thos LT1 cars run high 13's on stock tires out of the box. I have 3 friends who have done this...
1. 13.7@103.4
2. 13.8@102.9
3. 13.7@104.1

They are quick little rockets.

The first time was a 97 Auto....

The second and thrid ones were '95 6-spd's

These #'s are on stock stock cars with the GoodYear GS-C's they come with out of the factory.

I'll be running about 450FWHP N/A on my motor once I pass the current emmissions and throw in the real cam I have in store. Right now it's about 400 FWHP. Not bad for an LT1? LT1's are actually MUCH cheaper to mod then TPI. Do the math...

I did,

5 grand for a super charger for my Vette.
500 for an Edelbrock Intake.

It's pricey, probably more so for the Vette than a F-Body LT1.

Basic bolt ons and full exhaust on my brother's 96 6 speed T/A and it runs 13.4 at 105.

A friend of mine has cam and exhaust and ran a best of 12.43 with his Auto 95 Formula. Now has heads and 3200 stall and Friday could only get a 12.50 due to traction problems. The track was not prepped all that good. I couldn't hook worth anything.

Ive got some avi's of a 94 lt1 doing 10.80 N/A!!! They are pretty cool...in one of them he kicks the crap out of a bike. Now obviously his engine is heavily modded, but it is N/A.

The sad thing about it all is that he actually built the car for auto Xing not drag racing. In fact he only drags for the hell of it when hes not auto Xing.

If somebody has some space to host these vids or will tell me how to put them on the web, I will gladly share them. I would just link you to his site, but it appears he has moved it. Anyways get back to me if anyones interested in the videos.

Have you priced heads, headers, or exhaust setups for LT1's lately? I guess not, or else you wouldnt say that. TPI stuff is much cheaper than LT1 stuff.

I know plenty of guys with inane LT1 cars. Two cars in particular stand out. Both have the t56 and are extensively modified. One was a 383 and one was a 401. The 383 ran 11.10 N/A and 10.30 on the bottle. The 401 ran 10.80 N/A and 10.01 on the bottle. Both of those cars look close to stock and the engine bay only looks mildly modded. The 401 powered car has an extremely quiet exhaust that is only a bit louder than stock. Also, both the cars are daily drivers that gt between 20-25 mpg. (There goes the *****'s "I have better gas mileage than you" arguement )

You must be talking about JordonMusser, right? I've been to the track with him before and his car is the fastest NA LT1 I've seen.
I have a video of him doing 10.80 at 130 in the 1/4 NA.
The 401 has hogged out AFR 210's and a solid roller cam with 260ish range duration, with .650+ lift. That car flies! But it IS a high maintenance motor.
I've also seen video of the fastest NA LS1 car, runs 9.91 at 136

Yep. Jordan's car is badass. Actually, he sold the 401. The guy that bought it had to be retarded. He paid Jordan for it, then let him keep running it in his car for over a month before having Jordan pull it and give it to him. In that time, he took it down to HRP in Houston and tried to get it in the 9s with the biggest nitrous pill he could feed it. Track conditions sucked that day, and he fell a little short. Now, he's using a mildly modified LT1 while he's working on his new project. He's building a turbo motor and is hoping for 1000 hp at the wheels

Yep, I heard he sold that motor. LOL at the guy who bought the motor! I didn't know Jordan was building a turbo motor. Is it LT1-based? or is it a conventional small block? Can't wait to see it run!

LT1 based with a T-88 turbo. Definitely laughing at the guy who bought his old motor. when I mean Jordan put in the biggest nitrous pill he had to try and get in the 9s, I'm talking a 400 hp shot. Motor took it and didn't seem to complain, but I doubt it was good for it.
