Vacuum Line Question

Hi all, I'm new here. I just got my first F-Body, an '87 GTA. I got her with some problems though. The intake manifold gaskets are leaking and I decided to replace them myself. I've worked on other cars before so I'm not too weorried about doing it myself. Anyway, I got started today marking and removing stuff, and just wanted to check on these vacuum lines. There are three rubber lines going into the back of the plenum on the passenger's side. They look like they are attached to some metal attachments shaped like hexagonal nuts. Can I just yank these off or will I have to unscrew the attachments? If I yank the rubber lines off, can I just shove them back onto the metal attachments like the rubber hoses at the throttle body? I tried unscrewing the first one closest to the runners but it wouldn't budge. So is it alright for me to just yank the hoses off like the hoses on the Throttle Body?

Sorry, I forgot to mention earlier... the previous owner swapped the original TPI system for a newer '90 TPI induction, so it's a speed density system. Thanks for any help you can give.

They should be nippled so just removing the hoses should be enough. If for some reason the hoses feel loose when you replace them, grab some small zip ties and use those like hose clamps.

My T/A had a leaking manifold gasket when I bought it. Make sure that the engine is completely cold before you start, find something big enough to cover the entire valley so you don't get anything inside the engine, and make sure its real clean before you put anything back on or you wasted your time.

MARK YOUR DISTRIBUTORS POSITION. Almost forgot... :-)

Good Luck!
