Car wont start when warm intermitent
I've got an ongoing problem that was solved for 5 months and is back. When I start the car when cold ,it fires up no problem, then when it is warm it might start might not. No click no anything, guages do move. I checked out voltage at starter solenoid still hooked up and voltage was down at 3 to 7 volts. If I get a jump from a running car 13.7 volts it fires right up.I replaced starter and solenoid tightened groundsbut just sprayed WD40 at back of heads at grounding points. It worked great for 5 months but is not starting again when warm plus Radio acts up changing stations, fader changing, volume changing on its own! When the car worked good for 5 months radio did not act up. If the car sits for 20 or 30 minutes it fires right up. When I bought the car It came with this problem. It is not neutral safety switch or bad battery. Is the ground for radio at back of head?Do you think it sounds like a ground problem?

I have the same thing with my 89 RS and still haven't found what it is. I had my cables replaced and it still does it. I noticed it stopped for a while when I adjusted my Neutral Safety Switch, but I don't think that had anything to do with it?? Sometimes I have to wait 20 minutes or more for it to decide to crank, and it doesn't matter where I am, it does it whenever.
Its frusterating but I beleive it is the ground at back of head. When I sprayed the WD40 back there it could have helped make contact but after 5 months it has dissipated and is acting up again. I will clean up the back of the head and redo grounds there.I also checked out the starter enable relay in kick panel. Seems to work fine. You might try this also and keep me posted.

I would also say make sure the battery connection at the starter is not shorting out somewhere.
I would bet that your starter solenoid is getting too hot though. Perfect symptoms. Hard start only when hot. Wait 20-30 and it starts back up just fine. Sounds like the culprit.
Are you running headers?
Try making some sort of heat shield out of aluminum sheet metal. My friend did that with his Formula and it helped.

I noticed though sometimes it doesn't matter what the temp. is. It does it pretty much at anytime.
I've checked it!! DOH! No such luck! Checked all the easy things first. Add more wires ,add more headaches. I wish it was as easy as my sixt8birds.1 wire to coil ,1 wire to solenoid, one wire to ignition, 1 wire to starter. Not that simple but pretty basic! I must have 3 miles of wire in this car and thats just under the dash.LOL!

I had this exact same problem!
When i bought my camaro, i was told that this was a problem, and there was this odd grey wire i was shown. When it wouldn't start when it was hot, i was to touch the grey wire to the positive battery terminal. When i had to finally, it jump-started my car, and shot sparks everywhere. It started to be quite a show for some friends of mine, they really dug it. hehe.
I think it was a wire leading directly to the starter itself, but that's not my point.
My bro in law had a camaro with the same problem, and he said it was the starter solenoid which was causing the problem.
He replaced mine, and I have never had that problem again, been going on 2 years.
Wasn't fun to take it out, we tried removing the starter, but the exhaust pipe was in the way. Rather than take off the exhaust, we just unbolted the starter, and took out the solinoid that way, by rotating the starter around above the exhaust pipe to get to the solinoid because it fit between the exhaust and starter no problem.
Not sure how much the starter solinoid cost... 20 bucks? it wasn't too bad of a price,
You might want to give that a shot though, it really sounds like you have the same problem as I had.

Oop, i missed the fact that you replaced the starter and everything already.
I notice they sell heat shields for starters. I have also heard that heat kills solenoids. You still might want to replace the new one, and if it fires up, buy a heat shield for your starter.
Most parts stores have a guarantee, i know pep-boys (bleh) has a 90 day warranty. Plenty of time to figure out if it's the problem or not. I didn't have to blow 300 on a new MAF because of their 90 day return warranty.
Just my $.02. Your problem does sound like the one I had.

i was having the same problems as all of you with the car sometimes not starting. i first rigged a pushbutton start switch under the dash and it worked for like 3 months. before i put the pushbuttton in i changed the ign switch and bench tested the starter. then finally the starter went. murrays starter so i got a free replacement changed it and all the battery cables and havnt had a problem since (knock on wood).

I'm gonna adjust the Neutral Safety Switch again and see how that goes.
