89 305tpi Heads
89 305tpi Heads
Car is manual 5spd.
Should I keep the heads and get a 3 angle valve job & the works or should I just go for the World Products Torquer 305 heads?
Opinions are MORE than welcome.
Thanks,

Vortec is GM's trademark for their raised-port head design, as used in truck motors. They will not bolt correctly to your TPI base; you will have to purchase the single-source base that has the ports in the correct location to align with the Vortec head ports. In other words, they are not suitable for use with TPI, unless you are willing to spend $400 or so in addition to the price of the heads themselves. People will tell you that you can drill the bolt holes; that doesn't fix the runner issue. They will not work with a stock TPI base (or any other TPI base other than the SDPC Vortec-specific one).
Get the World heads, they are the best deal going for what you have. You should also put on a set of headers and a better cam, to get the full benefit of whatever heads you buy.

If I get the World Procuts heads and have them ported and the multi-angle valve job...with a 2032 cam and 1 5/8 headers, what do you think my HP and Torque numbers would be?
THanks for the responses RB and Vroom
