86 z-28 vs. 88 5.0

I was just wondering who would win. My car is an 86 camaro Z-28 with a rebuilt 350, mild cam and some headwork other than that not much more than stock, it is a 5 speed with what i believe are the original 2.73 gears(which will hopefully be 3.42 or 3.55 be4 we race). His car is an 88 Stang 5.0 it has exhaust and some mild head work other than that its pretty much stock also. Do you think i can take him? or should i wait til i get my gears and a short throw?

If he has a stick it will be whoever knows how to row gears better.

I'd say he's got you. Though get some headers and it might be a different story.

I think it would be a drivers race, but if you get the gears and open up the exhaust, you probably got the advantage!!
