'89 Formula vs. LS1 TA

I was pulling out of school the other day nice and easy in the slow lane. I look into my rearview and see an LS1 TA coming up in the fast lane. I wait until he's about 20 or 30 yards behind me and then I drop it into second and nail it. I get a little jump on him and the car pulls hard through 2nd and I shift into third at 6000 RPM. She keeps pulling and about that time he starts to pull past me yawning! What an arrogant a$$hole! Oh well, I'd probably do the same thing. It's time to find some more power in the small block now. Winning isn't everything, but losing sucks!

to go with LS1's crazeinc is right, how about nitrous? you said you have forged pistons (if i remember correctly) and with a good ignition and fuel system you could be yawning as you pass the LS1. Just an idea though I guess.

I agree with 'em. Nitrous will help you take cars of those pesky LS1 owners or at least gears (4:10 or so)

Oh wait a minute.....I own one, guess I mean those other LS1 owners

I had a 73 nova with a semi built 406 in it and believe it or not it actually was quicker with a 780 vacum(sp) secondary carb although I milled the airhorn and polished it for better airflow. Might be worth trying if you know someone with one that you can try. Alot of people think double pumpers are automatically better and that's not the case, especially for the street.
