Well I raced 86Street (86 z-28 w/327 headers, intake, holley carb, TH350, 3.73's, and dual exhaust) twice the other night. The first time I beat him by like 5 car lengths. We both took off around a corner and after regaining traction i put it in 2nd at 3/4 throttle. Then I slowed down again and he came behind me hauling ***, so I punched it and beat him again. Funny thing was even though he had the initial momentum in the last race, he never even pulled in front of me!!! Oh well, just a friendly race. Nothing at stake or anything. Just having some fun.

 

Nice kill, but shouldn't you have beaten him worse, I thought he said he was around low 15s?

I was referring to what 86street guesses as to what he's running.

 

Just so everyone knows as well, Mikey's car isn't anywhere near its full potential right now. Once the exhaust gets an upgrade and a few other details, its gonna be killer. Its not even making HP past 5K, but its set up to make its peak HP about 7500 so we've gotta un-cork it and sort some things out.

 

Yeah, I was at 3/4 throttle though. And I say I am running about 50% potential right now. I need to get bigger exhaust and I need gears big time. Once thats done watch out.

 

I'd say more than 50% until it hits the wall, remember, that motor is just barely coming alive before it starts choking.

Allen you do have a point, there is something to be said about having had a car for a much longer time. Look how long its taking me to get things happening (cause I can't afford to any sooner!)

 

Allan-True, but your car still looks better than mine, should swap bodies then it would look right. My engine in your car and the other way, but I would put my 91-92 z-28 rims on the 86. hehehe
