I was going down my street yesterday and a white LS1 SS pulls out of his work. I am just cruising so I pass him and he gets behing me. As soon as there was no traffic in front of me I hit the gas. He was behind me when I hit the gas and then got in the other lane. I was about 1 car ahead when I hit the gas and he pulled about a 1/2 car up then slowed down. Well I pulled into a Shopping Center and he came in to talk to me. He has a Intercooled Procharger, SLP Longtubes, and Corsca Catback!!!!! He runs 11.9 on street tires, but he can't race at the local tracks because he doesn't have a roll cage. He told me he slowed down because there was cop on that road, but I didn't see any. He was cool and I will run into him again someday, hopefully when my car is done!!!

 

SS's are sweet, but I can't wait till my motor done and to see the look on an SS owner's face when the Iroc hands him his ***.

 

I was on my way home from the local cruise spot the other nite when I lined up next to a 2000 SS A4, all stock. He thought my 3rd gen was easy prey

Well we took off from the lite and he thought he'd leave me standing still. Imagine the look on his face when I was still right next to him at the top of 2nd gear (about 70mph)

Too bad the governor in my trans won't let me hold 3rd gear at WOT, cuase as soon as I tried shifting 3rd he started leaving me. At the next lite we lined up again, this time with a Fox Mustang as a 3rd party Needless to say we both left that Mustang guy standing still smoking his tires

Anyone that sez a 3rd gen can't run with a LS1 car is fulla

 

You need an IHRA track.

You can run a 11.5 without a cage...but I dont know if I'd recommend it.

We do have a IHRA track but 11.9 is his only time and he probably runs high 10's so he still needs a cage. He doesn't want a cage cuase he still wants a regular street looking car.

 

Damn, sounds like he has that car hooked up.

 

Hell Yeah!!!!!! That was the nicest SS I have even seen. Probably the fastest too! Now everytime he comes by our Shop when we are working he slows down and Guns it and all you hear is MOTOR!!!!!!!!!!!:hail:

 

Unless the 3rd gen is pretty heavily modded it wont hang with a LS1 I have both and it's not even close in comparison. Even though I like my IROC my Trans Am would flat out kill it in a race. So just because you caught a lucky break don't go thinking you can hang with another. You will be dissapointed
