I Never Post Here, But Oh Well...
I'm sure most of you won't care much about this, but I had two good races and one close call.
First, I beat my friends' '86 Firebird (both of us running slow 2.8's)...not much of a shock, as he had a passenger (and no real mods), whereas I was passenger free with exhaust, cold air, and a few run of the mill mods. Secondly was one that happened tonight, and I know that it shouldn't have. I was driving my date home (yes, I'm now a SINGLE guy....2 1/2 years gone down the toobz...moving on to greener pastures, or at least more voluptous ones...), and it's pretty late. Coming up to light (green) behind this black Beretta. Well, the Beretta stops, won't move, so I go to move around him, and he takes off. I catch him at the next lights, and we're both rolling up to a red. I swear, it sets up like a bottom of the ninth, 3-2 count with the bases loaded and I'm the winning run at the plate - the Beretta revs, the lanes merge into one up ahead, and I have a date to impress (in my verrrry slow car). So as the other lights turn yellow, I prepare to launch - get the revs up there, all of that - but then both lights sat there, RED, for a good 30 seconds. Wen they DID finally go, I popped out WAY ahead of him, and ended in that same spot. How..? I dunno, but I don't plan to argue.
Finally, after a movie recently, I tried in vain to 'race' my friends' RX-7....of course we go by a cop, with my much louder car trying to catch up. The cop lights me up near immediately, and I pull over. He asks me how my night's going, tells me I'm going too fast for the speed limit, and tells me to slow it down....and that's it. I was crapping my pants, as street racing around here will get your liscence revoked at times.
Yup, it's 3 am, but that's my little rant. Enjoy!
