Kept up with a newer Maxima

I was just as surprised as you guys are. This guy in either a 2001 or 2002 Maxima was zipping through traffic on the four lane part of the Parkway the other day and he finally caught up to me. He tried passing me once or twice but i knew he wasn't really trying. So finally we're cruising at around 75mph and i see him coming up fast two lanes to my right. When he's at my door i punch it and kick it down to second. I pull on him and he punches it. He immediately had 1/2 a car on me and i kept with him until we were side by side smiling at each other. There was a car coming in my lane so we both slowed down. I get next to him to avoid the car and he punches it again. This time i didn't try because we must have been going at least 100 (speedo stops at 85) the last time and he just keeps weaving through traffic. It was fun, and i guess my dam 2.56 rear actually helped me for once. The car was definately stick by the way. Dam those businessmen who think they can mess with the LG4

It was probably a 2001 with the 222 hp 3.0 V-6. The 2002 models have the 3.5 V-6 pushing over 250 hp, and do the 1/4 mile well into the 14's.

yea probably, i'm still surprised though. I thought for sure that after he had that 1/2 a car on me he would just keep pulling away.

Hey, just for my 100th post, where in Philly are you BloodRed? I'm going to be a freshman at St. Joe's next month. You anywhere near there?

I'm actually in Montgomery county (Hatfield), but I grew-up in northeast Philly. St. Joe's is on route 1, I think.

No, i found out the other day it's 2.56. I bought the car knowing the gear wasn't stock because it had posi and the rpo said it should be open. Turns out it's 2.56. Explains my 1/4 mile times though. Only i have that luck.
