I'm getting better

ok went out last night and did a G-tech run once again

pulled about 130hp stock hp is 146 at the flywheel

and the times where something like
16.14 at 91.4mph

with what I am guessing is the 1/8 at 10.25 or so (I just saw the thing flash for amoment that time)

the launch could have been better since I spun it for about 2-3 seconds off the dump of the clutch

right now a lot of the stuff I once had on the car is not there

all that I have now is my header, filter, intake pipe
still have dirty plugs, plug wires that pop off, exhuast leak that is REALLY REALLY bad, and a few more misc things that need to be taken care of.

now here comes my question... how much further would I need to go to be comp against a 305 tpi?

and would I stand much of a chance at a 305 HO

also how much do you think that tire spin killed my time?

You need about a good 2 more seconds unless you race a P.O.S neglected TPI.

so a 305tpi runs low 14's??

I thought that was the 350 range

just a few other numbers to post out there

out of curiosity I pulled a .56g on the launch by dumping the clutch at 4000rpms...

around .89 using the brakes

and around .86 by twisting the g-tech sideways and seeing how much side load I pulled.... though this last one I wouldn't call accurate at all

and with the times I am pulling would I fare ok with a 305ho

ugggghhh I want my old parts back.... but I guess this is reason enough to go get better N/A parts

If I run a 14.9 & you run a 16.1 then to catch up to me you need about 1 & 1/4 of a second, but I should be faster now.

lets just say second.

sorry bou tthe 2 second thing.

rx,
with 91mph, even on gtech, I think you should be well into the 15s. Work on that launch and you'll probably run even with a lot of 305s. By the way HO and 305 tpi cars are about equal. The only HO engine was the L69, which was similarly rated.

I figured my times should be lower

I know I see al ot of FWD cars pulling the same trap as me but they are in the mid to low 15´s

don´t understand that part since I though at the same trap speed the rwd car should pull the faster time?¿?¿

tonight though I am going out and cleaning my plugs since I am too cheap to buy new ones ..... $7.99 a plug and I need 4 of them... wierd looking bastards also. the new PVC pipe I put in for my intake plumbing is going to get the edges smoothed out so the air flow should be a little better. and going to try to reduce some weight to see if that helps at all on times........

grrrrrrr I should be going faster but damn it I am starting almost over again

also I had a little better traction before I think... I have had two flats so I am using newer tires that are just not that great and have very little grip.....

last time I took the car too the track which was a while ago

only mods where header............
I pulled a 16.4 at 86 with a 60´time of 2.4

Damn that 60 foot is pretty high. You'd be amazed how much that can affect your times. If you could work on that and pull a 2.0 you could drop .8 seconds off of your e/t. I remember when I made wooden cars in shop class I used to put rubber bands on the back tires for traction, maybe you could try that rx

well least one thing is for sure

I would be hella good at bracket racing

I went out and did about 5 more runs last night

I hit all 16.1x except for one run that was a 16.5 and that time I revved up to about 6k rpms then slipped the clutch

bad mistake but trap was the same still

here are two of the runs on mp3 format

and if you guys could help me out here... what am I doing wrong?

http://rx7speed.homestead.com/files/16.mp3

http://rx7speed.homestead.com/files/oops.mp3

oh and these runs where made with the car at 3k rpms then slipping the clutch till I was moving then just dumping it after that

i always thought the Gtechs mph assumption was a bit off, ive heard by almost 5mph. if this is true, then youre running mid 80s in trap speed which would make sense with a near 16 flat sec run. my LG4 (low output 305) runs nearly identical times as you. keep working at your launch and youll see 15s
