my 86 vs. 90ish 5.0 GT

i took the long way home from work a last fri. to hit the local cruise spot, and as i was turning on my road i passed a 90ish Stang, well being me i threw a rev , well this guy must of been iching for a race because he followed me, i was like, well ok i did start this, so i drove out to the closeset hwy and we slowed to like 40 mph, we were both sitting there ready to go and he punchs it automatically jumping half a car and inching ever so slightly ahead of me we went to about 80 and i shut it down there and i was maybe a few feet from his bumper. His car was definatly not stock as i can romp some stock stangs, so i was kinda impressed with my little 305. But not as impressed as i ws when i handed that lt1 his _ _ _ . , but anyways what do you guys think. later

p.s. going to the drag strip again tom. last time i got 10.22 @ 69.88 since ive put on some Lakewood lca,an air foil, and fixed my starting problem so my car doesnt have to over heat b/c i cant turn it off in the line.

Sounds good. The reason see you running with him from there was his gearing (I bet). Usually any modded 5.0 has 3.73 or lower gear ratio. This kills highway performance, but is great for the track. Nice kill, but a 10.2 in the 1/8 is about a high 15 in the 1/4, not really a Mustang killer you got there!

Sounds like good race, but I think from a dead stop the stang would have taken care of you.

Aren't you from the beach? Did he happen to have an Apostles sticker in the rear window?

That should be low 15's maybe high 14's (doubtful). Good job on going down half a second

no im from lynchburg, in the heart of virgina, so what would a 9.7 be like a 15 flat? what would you guys recomend next, im thinking intake runners, posi, and high stall converter. would those put me into the low 9's high 8's?

Why didn't you stop this guy, agree on how you're going to run your cars and run him heads up? Your Camaro only runs 15.27 second quartermiles. He should have ripped your head off, dude.

I'm sorry! I read it wrong. I thought you beat him by a car and a half. Good run, but next time stop, talk to the guy and run him heads up!
