The new Eclipses (after 2000 I believe) are no longer turbo AWD cars, they just have a v6 with around 200 hp. Don't hold a candle to the older AWD turbo cars that could fly with a few cheap/free mods.

Should run around a middish 15 at best, probably slower with the auto.

Do your friend the biggest favor you can possibly do to a friend and tell him to get a manual the sporty's suck and he will barely break 15's with a manual if he can drive good he will break into the 14's, and by the way it doesnt come turbo all wheel drive.

well i havent seen it yet but he said it was a v6 turbo AWD. it probably isnt but 200hp in an AWD sport compact is still gonna be pretty fun to drive. hell you could probably launch at 4k-5k and not even smoke the tires. that would be a pretty good neck snap.

If you launch at 3.5k u will peel the tires all thru 1st and chirp second in a manual Im sure u wont chirp second in the sporty.Remeber this car is a 4 banger with no torque its a pretty toque car and it get its hp low end not top end like most imports

i said it was a 6 cylinder and awd. i hear its pretty hard to burn 4 tires through 1st with a 200hp sport auto.

New (2000+) Eclipses are not available with turbos or AWD, but you can get them with a V6 (200-205 hp stock). FWD only.

1990-1999 Eclipses were available with turbos and AWD, but only came with four-bangers (190-210 hp stock). FWD or AWD with turbos.

The only (twin) turbo V6 AWD that Mitsubishi ever put out in this country was the 3000GT (300-320 hp stock). AWD only with turbo.

First off, i beleive all new Eclipses after 2000 are V6 and FWD only. No AWD since the 2G eclipse ended in 1999.

Also, GS-T eclipses are turbo, bt FWD and not AWD.

GS-X Eclipses are AWD and Turbo

The AWD models launch hard with mods, but tend to die off in speed around the 1/8th mile. Most of their race is won off the line. AWD sucks due to the high driveline loss when the car gets to speed

GS-T's suffer on the launch with only FWD, but make up for it due to not having the driveline loss that the GSX has.

Both models have their perks. Don't get an automatic either way

Make sure you know what model eclipse it is first.

F*ck I messed up i ment to put "isnt" and I left out the nt . Dam thats so messed up how two letters changed my entire post ,sorry bout that . What i ment to say it isnt i4 its a v6 and does have some torque so if you launch so high u wont get any traction unlike all these i4 were you have to launch high to get it in the power band of the turbo or v-tec

i don't think he was confused, i think he was BS'in you to death...no turbo,no AWD, its only worth getting a new eclipse if it has the V6 and stick, and even at that it doesn't impress me...IF i were to get a DSM it would be a 2G AWD turbo...

yeah if u want to be technical you're right, but its easier to refer to them as DSM's

so to make you happy IF i were to buy a talon or eclipse it'd be a turbo AWD, happy now?
