thanks i love my truck and very proud of it. i have many years of buying every part know to make it faster. so that means i have a ton of parts that don't work worth a flip. track times don't matter on street. it is all about traction. iroc s10 has out run the cars he says. his truck is a rocket from the line. no bog no spin just froggin out and running. remember a 305 can spin 6800 with the right cam. and a 350 383 400+ stroker can get a ton of power to the ground and make a s10 really fly. tq wins races hp sells cars.. we s10 guys don't need the gear or tq or hp a heavier car needs to get moving. so a taller gear in the 3.40 range is like putting 4.56 on a heavier car. we gear up to keep from spinning or slightly over cam the engine to make it launch softer and really start humming about 2500rpm. long powerband lets the light truck pull longer and harder in each gear. first is good to almost 35mph and second is about 80mph and third is really long legged. less shifting and more pulling is always good. look at the powergliges in prostock same reason light and longer in each gear for more pulling. by the way you injected guys. you can get 50 more hp by adjusting fuel map timming curve and playing with pulse width and duration on those cars the chips you buy are generic and you are better off paying to have one burned custom while it is on a dyno. a free 5hp can be had by swirl polishing the inside of the metal cold air intake kits to promote better flow down the long runner intakes and tbi cars like all the mods a carbed motors do but you have to be careful of the computer.
