ive always heard of disconnecting your front swaybar to help in launching, but how does this work? do you have to remove the whole thing or can you just disconnect the end links?

Negative, just disconnect the endlinks unless you're serious and plan to leave it unattached for a while. The thing weighs just under 15 lbs. If a couple hundredths are worth it to you, take it off. I just disconnected the endlinks, and zip tied it to the engine support crossmember.
From the info I've gathered it doesn't make as large a difference in actual 60' numbers as people make it out to. I have yet to tell on my car as I didn't get it off in time to make a pass after I disconnected it. If anyone has a before/after 60' improvement, and not just a SOTP assessment, please correct me. I've only seen one such case online. The rest saw no actual improvement.

Woah, under 15 lbs? i did mine today and threw it on my bathroom scale and the thing was a little less than 41 lbs..

Yea, definitely heavier than 15 lbs. It was pretty bulky. Huge improvement in weight transfer...then again, I was also running 90/10's at the time.

Well, I think I feel a pretty big difference in weight transfer, too. We'll just have to see what happens out at the track.
Maybe the F-body swaybar is a mammoth or something, but the on the mustang has been weighed several times, and though I haven't done it myself, I saw 2-3 seperate threads saying the weight of the swaybar came in at less than 15 lbs.
Also, what's with your reference to "swaybars." How many are you taking off?

i took only the front one pulled off.. illl weigh it on a different scale.. it definentely weighed much more than 15 lbs.ill show u a pic tomorrow.

After checking back on corral last night, I found several more threads claiming a weight savings of 14-15 lbs, and one thread that said a little over 20. I don't know, Guess I'll just have to wait for someone here to put it on a scale.
