After work tonight I will race a couple of people at my work. They are not cocky but want to race for fun.
The first car is a 1995 civic with a cold air intAKE (lol)
The next car is a 2000 or a 2001 3.8 v6 mustang.He says it has 193 hp and runs the 1/4 mile in 15.9.
The last car is an 80's old truck with a 262 v6.

the mustang will be a good race

and we will probably find other people racing as well

so ill tell you about the result of the races tonight!

ps
my tires are soooo bald , so hopefully i can get traction or hopefully my tires wont pop because they are really really bald

First of all the civic didnt come with us because he said he didnt want to race after all (lmao)
well after work we all headed down state street. It took us over a 30 minutes to finaly get a stop light, even when we were going 30 in a 45 mph zone.
Me the truck and the mustang were ready. I reved it to a bout 3500 rpms and when the light turned grenn i stomped the pedal to the floor. Un fortionately my rpm went to around 6000 and i hadnt even moved. My tires were just spinning and spinning. I quickly shifted to secound but the same thing (burning out). when let go of the gas a liitle bit more and shifted to third i finaal got tractionand the mustang had pulled 2-3 cars on me. This whole time I was head to head with the truck and when my tires gripped i smoked him.
SH&t !! I didnt realize my tires were that bald! well anyways i get paid this week and my friend is loaning me some huge a$$ cragar rims and im buying nice new tires. I will try to race him again after i get the new tires.

It shouldn't matter if his Z28 is stock he should be running around low 14's. Is the Z28 a stick or an auto?
Good luck next time with the mustang, If you can get some traction you might be able hang with him.

Yeah, the Strip track is quite a bit above sea level (over 1000 ft) and the air in Vegas SUCKS bad. I used to live there, and I had an LT1. It was a DOG out there, but it flourished in the humid, dense, thick air in DFW....

Ya if it's extremely humid and hot cars run like shiat..I ran a 13.9 my first time at the track in the firehawk. It was 102 degrees and relative humidity was off the scale. There was an LT1 6 speed z28 running 14.7's that day also. Next week I was there and so was he. I saw him cut a bunch of 14.0's that next week. And I also think he broke 13's. And I was hitting 13.2's. All in good air and fair humidity.

ya ouch is right..but i only lost one race that night. Go figure. The best victory was probably this 79 camaro that was all tricked out. I thought i was going to lose for sure. Walked him like a dog. He ran a 14.2..I heard him talking to someone saying "i just don't get it i run low 13's all the time on street night blah blah blah"..i found it pretty funny.

When our track was around 100, I was running 14.6s with the auto!!!

1000 feet isn't much at all. I run at 1000' all the time! Maybe that Z needs a tune up!!!

I know what you mean with the spinning in 1st and 2nd! Just on the way home today I tried my hand at launching, and I had a great launch (2500 clutch and slipping) and then after 3/4 through 1st, I smoked them in 2nd!!! It is tough on the street and even worse if your tires are bald! Just get some DRs and beat the Mustang!
