I just got my Z last night. It's a M6, '99 with only a flowmaster catback. Definatly am still keeping the thirdgen.

Just left the movies with my girl and this newer body cobra comes flying up behind me. I speed up a little, because I'm in the mood, and pass the few cars in front of us. He's definatly got exhaust cause that thing was loud, and sounded good. Whew didn't hear a whine so it wasn't an '03. Thank ***.

We're at 60, I'm in 4th. He hits it behind me, I hit it a second later. He moves up to my door and stays there for a second. He shifts and falls back to my bumper. I'm at the top of 4th, curves coming up, and traffic too. Race over, I'm smiling and he was too. Shoulda dropped it to 3rd I'm guessing, would have been over sooner.

After another light and traffic we catch a short light together. He gets there first, stops and gets ready to launch, he was also a manual. I didn't see the light changing, I was still rolling up. Light turns and bam he's off. ****, off I go a car length behind him. First it stays that way, second I'm gaining slowly. Third, whoaaa traffic came up fast. Race over with him in front 3/4 to 1/2 a car. I think if I was ready I coulda taken him.

Bout ready to pull into my neighborhood, a little riced out mid 90s prelude pulls outta my neighborhood right in front of me (I was turning left into the neighborhood) and throws a rev as he cut me off. Well, me still pumped from the earlier race, look around, and easily move out of the turn lane. Back onto the road he's already pretty far up there. I get on it, catch him no problem. He guns it, doesn't move anywhere. He turns off onto another street. I'm in 2nd, he guns it. I almost ran him over. Yeah a waste of gas, but still fun.

I love my ls1. :hail: I don't get a race for over a month with my thirdgen, but the second night I have my new Z I get some action. Oh well.

huh, thats really weird cuz i had a similar race with a black mustang around here about a week ago. it was a gt and was very loud but i keept right up with him to about 125mph then he killed me but as far as preludes go, heh unless turbocharged they aint go nothing on us but great story man, just keep it safe man dont kill yourself when you race cuz that would suck

I noticed that also, no body wants anything to do with 3rdgens. When I get the 355 in, I guess Im gunna have to start em.
