lost to a C5 friday night
yep, chalk up my 4th street loss.
i was on my way back home from the track, when i noticed the fast approaching headlights of a C5 in the left lane. traffic was moving slower in my lane, so he passed me, and i got a good look at him: some old dude in his 50s or so. the car was silver and had stock exhaust, so i assumed it was unmodified. when he got ahead of me he tapped his brake lights a few times... no way, THIS guy wants to play?
about a mile up the road traffic finally opened up, but he was a good 6-7 lengths ahead of me. i thought it was over at that point. then i see his brake lights come on and he slowed down HARD. suddenly we were door to door and i looked over at him and he nodded. oh ****, do i have to run a LS1 Vette from a 50mph roll? i was dead.
BAM, he and i both punched it at the same time. my auto downshifted into 2nd and i actually kept up with him for about 2 seconds. then we both hit 3rd and he started to walk me, BAD. by 80 he had a good 5 lengths, and a little past 100 he opened that lead up to over 10. i let off then, but he proceeded to stay in it, probably about to 120 or so. then he cut over into a turning lane and as i passed i honked and gave him a wave out my window. that was my first race with a C5, very educational.
shame on him for picking on this defenseless C4 from a roll :sillylol:

You need to shift into 2nd when on the freeway and running from a roll, it's quicker than letting the tranny kickdown and keeps the car in gear longer.
