svt focus lmfao!!!

last night me and my buddy were drivin around lookin for a little action...we come up to a light and already sitting there was a black svt focus. me and my buddy kinda laugh after i made a comment about it...(something about it bein slow)....so i pull next to him and throw a 1800rpm rev..to get his attention...his passenger looks over at me and laughs i smile and my buddy was like "ohhh this dude better not even think about racin" i laugh and look over and see the passenger put his seatbelt on...im like "well he wants to go james so get ready".....the light goes green and i torque the clutch out and get a little wheelspin and im gone...the race is over before i get to 2nd gear lmfao....we get to the next light and he wants more...so i let him get out a little like 3 cars and then i get after him...by about 65 im goin by him...so i let off and he does a flyby im like "whatever dude you got smoked"....
that was funny

That good. Recenlty a freind was telling me about how there is a conversion kits for V-8's into the Focus. I was like ok. Then he goes even farther and tells me that someone dropped in a 2003 Cobra engine into a Focus. I am like hmmm 30000 for an 11 sec car. How nice.

some people will do anything to make a sport compact fast.

BTW good race, though I think it was overkill

Well I hope you smoked him. That thing isn't anywhere near your class N/A for N/A. My mom has a focus. LOL! Slow as ***** but I was impressed with the stock tires and suspension on the ZX3 package or whatever. Crazy info about the v8 swap thing. I havent heard that one yet. What I did hear was to watch out for the ones with the old SVO turbo engine (2.3ltr EFI). Ever since the Mcguires Focus went to a SVO turbo setup (and FWD conversion for that motor) for the IRDC race season people have been doing crazy stuff with Focus's. The WRC version in Europe isn't a joke either. But to this date I havent seen one in person that was anywhere near fast. Good kill.

What a waste though. I'd rather buy a Fiero in good condition and THEN swap a v8 into that. ^_^ Mid engine layout with v8 power. Perfect balance. Great handling. Crazy acceloration.

All for much less than a SVT focus stock. ^_^

I'd think a stock 240hp TPI would easily get a Fiero down into the 13's. Remember your taking a engined that pushed a 3600lb car into mid 14's and dropping it into a 2,800lb car. Thats a huge difference.

I KNOW that 12's are pretty easy to get in a fiero V8. On V8archie.com they sold a 450hp v8 fiero! A 450hp V8 in a 2,700lb car! Thats insane, I don't think that car could even get traction if it wanted to. I've got a video of a V8 fiero running somewhere in the 12's or 11's. It doesn't show the final time, but timing the video gives you a good guess on the ET.

i think im gonna get a fiero just so i can do that lol...

900 pounds is almost a full second...so that would be a low 13 just by swapping in a stock 350 tpi....add some mods and youll be touchin 11's even smokin the tires to the 300 ft mark lmao
that would be a ride

My sister used to have a fiero. That thing spent more time broken down on the side of the road than it did on the road. I heard the V6 Fieros were a little more reliable though. Cool body lines nonetheless. I'd love to drop a GN motor in one oneday.

I've seen a stock looking/sounding focus zx3 running low 13's all day long at FFW before so I tend to give them a little respect. Most foci are pretty slow however. Also seen a number of 302 powered foci' before...pretty tight fit. I can't see a 4.6 fitting under any circumstances.

I Want to throw a SC3.8 in a fiero.(GTP motor) I think it would be the ultimate low budget thrill car! 400 hp is nothing for that motor! The only reason you don't see more quick GTP's is that weak *** tranny GM puts in em! Lots of people look down on the fiero, but in 88 it was a kick butt poor man's ferrari! It handled like it was on rails; it just needed a little more power. GM pulled the plug just when the car got cool, like the Impalla SS, and the corvair! The fiero tranny has successfully held up to 450hp. I think low 12's, TOTAL streetability, and 25mpg would be possible! Maybe someday!

the dude that had the fiero with the turbo buick in it told me that he originally wanted to put a supercharged 3.8 in it, the one out of the regal GS (i think its the same as the GTP motor anyways) but he didnt do it.....i cant remember why, but there was some difficulty involved...

it would still be cool though

I believe the regal motor is indeed the same motor as the GTP. I've done some research on the swap, and it appears that the hardest part of the swap is the flywheel. I never thought about the turbo 3.8. That would be way cool too! I've found a pretty straight 86 GT in a salvage yard for $100! It has the blown up 2.8 inside the car. It's a 5 speed too! Maybe I'll buy it and start collecting parts. I think the early model fieros are ugly as sin; but the later GT's look bad *** with a 2 inch lowering job and some 17's. Later!

FYI, the rpo code for the supercharged series II 3.8 is the L67, and it can be found in some 96 and up Olds LSS, and all Buick LeSabre Ultra,Bonneville SSEi and 97 and up GTP's and regal GS.S o there should be quite a few in the boneyards.

lol thats what im saying.....

however awhile back ford got pissed at all the "foci" jokes and acutally made a press release stating that the plural of the ford car named the focus, was actually focuses, and not foci.

im stickin with foci though :lala:

Yeah they do make the V8 conversion kits for the Focus, makes them rear wheel drive and everything. Score one for American Muscle, I guess.
