for a total daily driver i think low 13's are quick.
for a strip/daily driver i think low 11's to high 12's is quick.
but for a total strip car, 10s r slow.

Well, considering the fact that I have quite a few victories- at least to 30-45- with my slower cars...my beliefs have to be something just like this...
18s.....You need help. Tolerable for 2 Ton vehicles and 4 cylinders, maybe Inline 6s. Good for most diesel vehicles.
17s.....Totally unacceptable for any muscle car or sports car. Tolerable for most of the rest.
16s.....Acceptable for v6 sports cars. Feels fast for things like Cieras and Taurus..eses (Tauri?).
15s.....Standard Muscle car mark. Quick. At this mark, it will be very possible to demolish many vehicles that you meet at the light...AS long as it is poorly driven.
14s.....Very acceptable. I can deal with that just fine.
13s.....Standard High Performance Sports/Muscle car mark. Most cars with less than 8 cylinders cannot touch this mark n/a.
12s.....I wish...
11s.....how many forms of the word "fast" are there?
That should cover enough. So where does "dast" begin? 14s. As far as cars that aren't streetable...well, I don't know. I don't and probably won't own one.
How you drive a car counts for alot...Trust me.

Well when your 17 (18 in a week
) fast on the street IMO is mid to low 14's. My car would probably run about 16.0
They're aren't too many kids around here with fast cars. Its kinda funny that the import guys at my school see my car as "fast" because they're in the mid 17's with they're Hondas and Toyotas lol.
The fastest car I've ever been in was a 12 second 428 Shelby Cobra Kit Car :hail: Oh man that was fun! lol

if you think about it in terms of statistics, there are alot of cars that run 14's around....quite a bit that run 13's.....some that run 12's.......few that run 11's...10's or faster is rare.
thats with respect to the cars that you are likely to run into on the street in most areas. that being said, 12's are pretty damn fast for a daily driven street car...considering probably 90+% of daily driven cars arent capable of that kind of accleration.
and obviously anything faster is just sick......but even 13's on the street is quick enough to handle 80-85 percent of the cars you are likely to encounter at a light

Fast is relative. As fast as you are, there's probably somebody out there that's faster.
A respectable low cost sports car should be capable of at least 14s, preferably low 14s. If it's slower then that, it's more of a sporty car as opposed to a sports car.
Serious sports cars should be able to get into the mid to low 12s.
Hardcore enthusiasts should have their cars in the 11s or lower, primarily depending on their budgets. As was said earlier, if you've got a seriously built up motor and drivetrain with a big ole power adder on it and you're running high 11s, that car isn't nearly as fast as it should be.
For daily driving, a 14 second car will be capable of easily overtaking 99% of the commuter vehicles it's going to come across. And any respectable enthusiast will be able to spot the majority of the cars that could possibly pose a challenge (the only exception possibly being those superbly built sleepers)

I think speed is like anything else. When you first get whatever it is, be it a car or a new golf club or something, you think its really fast or its the best club on the market. After a few weeks or so, the car isnt quite as fast and the club isnt as long as it used to be. Then you experiment with aftermarket parts and what not and it becomes a hobby. Its like anything else, its sort of an addiction.
