1989 formula firebird 305

I have a 1991 turbo laser and was thinking about getting anther firebird but I don’t want to get one that is slower then my laser. And I saw a 1989 formula firebird 305 for sale so I just wanted to know about what it would run. And what it would take to beat a fwd turbo dsm.

Honestly, the DSM has more potential than a 305 thirdgen. Swap out that motor and its a whole new ball game.

About what would a motor swap cost. What would be a good one? And what else would need to be swapped to put a 350 in?

I keep hearing about these bad turbo talon-eclipse-lasers that can run 13's for cheap. I've only driven one stock FWD turbo talon and it did'nt feel that fast at all. I've raced a few others that are turbo fours and they seemed just as slow. Are the DSM's something different than the regular turbocharged four cylinders?

you can get it in to the 13's cheap. just turning the bost up helps alot.
i like the speed of the car i just like the look of firebirds better.
and a laser is better on gas(i have 26 miles to work each way) and its better in the winter.
