WTF is This Thing...?

...a Merc. Kompressor...?? Just curious if anyone knows what these things would run, say, in comparison to a stock TPI 305...?

That's a SLK. They're pretty slow. 4 cylinder cars, not offered with a 5 speed. They're either turbo'd or supercharged, but I would be very suprised to see 14's out of a stock one.

LOL, that's what I thought, then I saw one in a mag, that had a different motor, that I believe ran in the 13s, but this was not a CHEAP car, even compared to the normal SLK, but they're very nice lookin cars IMO.

There is a differance between the slk and the C230. The C is a 4 door sedan and is quite heavy, the slk is a 2 seat roadster and isn't nearly as heavy. Also the slk's now come as 320 (3.2 liter instead of 2.3 liter). If its the 4 door only us tbi L03 guys (like my self) and the sixs have anything to worry about (assuming the 50 some odd year old doctors wife behind the wheel will race you).

Kompressor is just the German word for supercharger. It's not the name of the car.

Yeah, in Gran Turismo the Kompressor is slower tham molasses in January. I think it is in the class with all the FWD cars (but I'm not sure).

If any one here is going to the Chicago Auto Show check out the Mercedes-Benz section. They have the CL 55 AMG Kompressor there and has to be the most comfortable car I've ever sat in. At $117,000+ it better be.

A note to the wise don't try to race it unless you have some serious hp. With 493 hp that thing can haul.

Kompressors are neat looking... I didn't realize they were so slow though... 15.8 and it's boosted??? That thing is like this big :: pinches fingers together :: ......
