played with a porsche today
went to pick a friend up to take her to work and getting on the free way I saw a porsche boxter.
he was moving fairly well and so I play catch up and get up beside him. got on it once or twice to let him know I wanted to play.he smoked my a<x>ss bad everytime we took off. it was fun though watching a porsche beat me time after time time
. put a smile on my face
whats up though do some of the boxers have a spoiler that comes up after a speed or something
it looks like he had this litle flap almost like a small spoiler sticking up out of his car

i dont think it was the boxster that came with the speed related spoiler it was that real expensive porch that had it (gt2 might have been the name of it) and it only came up after 80mph. but my only resource was a tiff needle video (topgear, its british).
maybe of some help

Well atleast the 911 carera 4 as i recall had a spoiler that came up at 120km/h... a friend test drove one... the boxster is a relatively "slow" for a porshe.. boxster s isn't that much faster.. btw.. the largest production line of boxsters is surprise surprise over here in finland
I'm not saying that a boxster wouldn't woop my *** but it's only got about 250hp and a 8s. 0-60... correct me if i'm bull*hiting ya guys but thats my impression.. It does have a top speed of 250km/h though..

I raced a Boxster S two years ago on the GSP, it wasn't pretty.
I think that if a pro is drivng them that a 13.9 run is possible, otherwise a low 14 second car. The non-S models are obviously slower. They all have the rear wingie/diffusor thing to counteract lift at speed, maybe it pops up at 50-60mph.
As for the top speed, I read somewhere it was 160mph. Honestly with only 250hp and not so great acceleration, doubtful... then again the 911 supposedly goes 178 or something, but no magazine ever came within 5mph of quoted by factory numbers. Too friggin bad.

The regular carrera turbos have the speed sensitive spoiler, the GT2 and GT3 have a fixed spoiler and I believe the N/a carreras don't have a spoiler. The body produces enough downforce that the car doesnt need it. Really the only reason it's there on the turbos and the GT3 is to move where the force is centered on the car. If anybody has better info on which cars have a spoiler and which ones dont, feel free to correct me.
It's always fun to play with cars like that man. Even if they do smoke your a$$, it's fun to watch them do it
And for the record rotary's make some damn good power. Seen one or two around here that have takin me to www.smokedyoura$$.com...

You need to breath some life into that rotary. Can't be letting Boxsters walk all over you.
Speaking of racing Boxsters, I beat one a couple years ago with my '96 Monte Carlo Z34 (has some basic intake and exhaust mods). The guy tried to steal my lane (one of those 2 lanes to 1 deals). It was pretty close, but the Bowtie made my day with its torque advantage through the first half of 1st gear by putting him at my doors and managed to get a little more despite the Boxster's ability to pull at the top of every gear. The nose of the Boxster was at my rear bumper as we passed 80 mph, then he had to let off and get behind me.
