the only difference in the internals will be the cam shaft and probably the heads.

25th... who said? i have yet to see a release on the c6's output, or a final design. 500hp is going to be a lot. if its gunna be 500hp, they are gunna drop a pretty big block in there, and more then a 6.0L. if you think that the vette is expensive now... i say the new Z06 will be around 60-63k with a "one-off" motor. i think that with a 450-475hp motor.. it will kill the viper. back to the fucus. i just saw a commercial for the lil SVT. it looked extreamly weak. Now that SVT is making a super focus, im sure kids with regular focus's will be flooding ebay motors for the SVT sticker.

500hp using the 6.0 block is not a stretch at all Al, those blocks are capable of producing 600+ hp.
kev.. i know that... but in a production model? they will put in a 6.0, and then mods to it will take it to 500. as a production engine, i dont think its going to put out so much that insurance and EPA get a hard on for it. you know what i mean?

what do u mean "rx-8 with a small block thing"? i thought the rx-8 is just a new rx-7 with a rotory engine still, or are u comparing a new GM car to the looks of one?
Check out the newest issue of Motor Trend. Right on the cover it says, "'05 Corvette! 500-hp C6 gets ready to rumble!" It has a nice article inside as well. It might not be 100% true, but I think they are pretty close to what the actual C6 will be like.

i mean its not like were talking about ford here, its GM....they are not nearly as prone to overrating concept and production output as is ford.
