who do you guys think would win

-my 92 camaro 305 v8 with an open element and exhaust

-my friends 99 v6 camaro with exhaust only.

my camaro seems slightly faster than all my friends stock thirdgens, im not sure what the guy that had it before did to it. (but i know its been monkey'd with, and this is before i did the exhaust and open element). Ive driven both and mine seems alot faster, maybe its just the extra torque from the v8.

both cars are automatic.

 

I belive 98+ Camaro V6's had close to 200 hp? Don't let yourself get suprised!

 

He should win probably if your car doesn't have something fairly major done to it. When you say exhaust I assume you're meaning just a muffler or catback. If you had headers you could have a shot...

 

the v6 will run low 16s, maybe high 15s..

 

mid to high 15s...
low 16s if manual and driver suxx...
i hit low 16s and should be taken by those...
not by much... but beaten nonetheless

I think you will lose to him. A good friend of mine raced a 2000 firebird with a 3.8 in his 89 350 tpi and barely won by like half a car length. The newer v6's are pretty quick cars.
