Wow, I rest my case. You win man. I know nothing and you know everything. It's good to know that you can take a stock "run of the mill superstock car " and put some slicks on it and run incredible times. I learn something new on this board every day.
Just out of curiosity though, since when does a 111 mph trap speed indicate a 10 second car?

nevermind can't talk about realities of technology with an 18 yr old
the point i'm making is a car from the 60's with the biggest stock tire was maybe 235/60/15 on a 7.5 inch rim with hard *** compound. i guess alot of tire spin don't knock of mph either eh?

You got me man. I'm only 18, what do I know right. Everyone knows the 69 427 vette runs 10's with slicks. I'm just a dumb 18 year old. You are obviously wiser than I am. I'm sorry, I was wrong. Putting slicks on a car will increase it's trap speed by over 15 mph as well. I was obviously wrong and you are right considering I am only 18.

hey guys, i just wanna give the info that I have. First, i thought all of you guys were talking about stock cars, and when you change tires a car isnt stock because it didnt have the tires from factory. and my uncles 1970 427 stingray runs mid-high 12's on tires that are almost the same size as stock. Also, my 66 el camino with a 350, and full exhaust was in the 15's , not 14's. there is some wrong information given by both sides, but i think you guys are ganging up on 25thrss. I also dont believe that 14.5 with the accord, thats probably with an amazing driver, most of the other mags get numbers a lot different than that because they arent the greatest drivers in the world, and most people that buy the accord will run nowhere near 14.5. well i just wanted to chime in, because it didnt seem lik a fair fight for 25thrss.

Screw modding any of my camaros. I'm sellin em both and I'm gonna buy a 69 427 4 speed vette(if I can find one), put some slicks on that baby and call it a day cause I just got myself a 10 second car.

When you talk to people that really were there back then and are REAL about what the cars ran STOCK, you'll see what a few of us are trying to get across. A few were fast, but most were just quick. Todays standards are different. Back then 15's were not all that slow and 10's were just incredible.
