not really a true race, but i was surprised

i have the car in my sig.
i was leaving a toll booth on the GSP and figured heck lets have some fun. So i mash on the gas and as soon as i did that, i see out of the corner of my eye a maxima dead even with me through every shift! i was surprised. i have pretty poor gearing so im hoping thats my main problem. i have t56 with shallow gears in it and a 2.77 rear
anyone else found these nissans to be pretty quick? or is my car a total dog right now?
