Modded 98 GT Vs. 91 Z28

My Girlfriends dad has an immaculately show room clean '98 GT with Cervini Ram air hood (functional) w/ Rear bumper, Xenon front bumper, Flowmaster cat-back, and 4.10's in the rear

My car is a G92 '91 Z28 L98, with headers, cat-back, AFPR, airfoil, filters, plugs, wires, all the little tune up stuff, otherwise bone stock.

Well we have both done out sh** talkin for the 3 years my GF and I have been together, it all started back when I was the owner of Sonar_Un's current car.

Today him, I, my GF, and her mom took a trip to wal-mart, we were going to my place afterwards, so it just so happened we had to take 2 cars.

How convenient!

So we turn off a side road onto a 2 lane (each direction) highway, he turns into the close lane, I turn into the close, then look over my shoulder to see the far lane to get next to him and play. as I look back I see some brown smoke come out his exhaust. My radio was loud enough I didnt hear it. So I now I gun it to, and from being ahead to begin with, and gunning it first he like 3 car lengths ahead of me. and for maybe 30-40 yards we stay like we have a pole between us, no one pulling at all. Then all of the sudden I was next to him and we both braked cause we know who had who beat

Sucks now, the sh** talkin is over, now I'll just **** him off.

I asked him afterwards what he had to say and all he said was "now I just know I have to order more parts"

BTW: the smoke from his exhaust was it blowing the surface rust out cause the car is driven maybe once a month, only has 20K on it, and 15k are from the first year owned when it was a daily driver

Too many variables. Why don't you race him clean, 1/4 from start.

Cause he'd never do it. especially after that. It took 3 years just to get that much out of him.

Sounds good, but I have one question.

Your post is titled, modded GT verse 91 Z28. Then you mention mods, and at the end of your list you write otherwise bone stock. IMO, you have more mods then he does for power, so why the leaning towards him being so modded (judging by the title) and you not being so modded (by claiming otherwise bone stock). Just seems odd. Not trying to say anything by it, just wondering.

Otherwise nice run!

Oh, cause when you say exhaust, he only has a catback and you have headers, maybe thats why I figure yours is more modded, because headers are a bigger deal then any ram air. And plus a Cervinis ram air does nothing for the car, and the catback helps very little if he still has the 4 cat H-pipe and stock headers. The 4.10s are a nice step up from stock!

Hey! stop sticking up for the Ford!

j/k
I guess that makes sense, I just do think of my car as "modded". His Ram Air actually made a good addition in power on the good ol butt dyno in the upper end.

The 4.10's are were he gets most.

It's not his fault he's driving one of the slowest Mustangs made in the last decade or so.

those 96-98 SOHC 4.6's weren't exactly the greatest things stock.

WHen you let a car sit for so long, surface rust can build up on the inside of the exhaust pipes. When you start the car, the heat and moisture tends to break it loose and it shoots out the tailpipes.

The 94-98's are THE slowest mustangs, there heavy. Minus the Mustang II in the mid 70's which isnt EVEN a mustang, it was a car with a badge.

ture, and the fact that 94-95 had 5.0s and could be easily modded like the foxes to run good numbers, made the 96-98s look even worse. It is hard to get a bolt on SOHC car to go mid 13s whereas a 94-95 car can do it without too much issues!
