Finally swapped to some 30lb injectors and was trying them out and doing a little tuning and came across a new EVO(noticed the 4 ft wing)we caught each other at the light and i could tell he was pretty cocky,he was already reving up before i got all the way to the light..so the light turns green. ill give them perks for leaving hard..he stayed at my quarter panel for a minute while i was spinning..but that was it..i let off after about 5 car lengths.he wasnt to happy

Then came across a

01 SS ..was a auto car..lightly modded..we went from about a 35 mph roll..well it was over quick..put 2 cars on him as soon as we went..nice guy and again was mostly stock(airlid and exhaust) and atleast he was driving a camaro..both were fun races.

had to make them respect our old third gens .lol

EVO's aren't all that fast. That SS you raced was probably a better race.

Was it the white Evo or the black Evo? The white one running around town is bone stock (don't be fooled by the spool turbo license plate frame) and the guy is afraid to really push it. The black one is modded...supposedly runs mid 12's from what Scott tells me.

BTW...just wondering...I was in the back of the pack riding in Daniel's probe that night on the way up to f'burg, but who won, you or David?

lol it was red actually

well on the way up when we raced from the stop light i had him by maybe a car maybe a car and a half he was starting to come slowly ..we were both spinning real bad though..coming back from like a 50 mph he put a quick car on me and pulled ,that was a bad spot for my car it was to low in rpms in second..raced again from about a 65 mph roll and it was much closer...he still got me maybe by a fender but was a very good race..we both had our sweets spots, i definately had a advantage from a stop light being automatic and he was a little stronger from a roll..his car will definatley be alot faster when he gets all the bugs worked out..but the ol 91 held its own .lol. was a fun as hell race though
BTW guys the car we are talking about is a 98 Formula ls1 6 speed with a ls1 motorsports QMP turbo kit on it dynoed 525 rwhp and like 700 rwtq

My brother just told me about his little experience in his LT1. He came across the same red evo in town. He said the guy was cocky and asked him if he had anything done to it and my bro said his car was messed up, which it is. His optispark is crapping out. Anyways the guy replies with, "I'd beat you anyways." Typical *****.

One of my local arch enemies has a Red 2003 Evo 8. He upped the boost to 22psi and did a few other things. A good driver ran a 12.5 on street tires (with traction probs). But as for the owner ... not a very good driver lol!

They must get really good traction down in atco, cause a modded one ran a 13.3 here at etown... stunk of burnt clutch. without a driver? I need to go to atco because it seems everyone gets about a good .3-.5 off there et. For the price, the evo isnt too amazing. You can get a 02 Z28 6spd, throw on some DR's, and be in the 12's. (Ive seen it... dont give me bs that it cant happen. Just cause you havent seen it, dont mean that it hasnt happend)

LS1's from a roll are dangerous. I have read many of races over at LS1.com that imports think they will be able to take the car from a roll because it "lacks range cause its an 8" or whatever. Many imports have found out the hard way the technology in the LS1.

I remember seeing that red Evo at Richmond dragway over the summer. He was running 12.8's all night.

Believe me BY ALL MEANS I AM NOT AN EVO FAN!! But these guys were rolling pretty good! Also Atco definitely seems to be a faster track but E-Town is a nicer track by far except that your 200 ft. from the track in the stands which sucks!

Guess what came in to the shop on a tow truck over the weekend...the red evo! Apparently he thought the phrase "rally inspired" really meant "factory rally car," because he took it off road...the whole car, inside and out, was COVERED in grass. Dude destroyed the clutch in that poor car.

They couldn't understand why it wasn't covered under warranty and kept saying "it's a rally car, it shouldn't break like that." Eventually they called a tow truck and took it somewhere else.

LOL so I guess alot of Evo's out there are getting messed up. I know of three Evo 8's sold so far in Hawaii, and two of them have crashed (yes the red one I mentioned earlier is one of them LOL). I think Mitsu made a big mistake by removing the AYC for the US versions. People think the car will not spin out (being AWD and having the Evo history), but they loose it on the turns because of the lack of AYC. There are already 10+ WRX STi's sold here in Hawaii and none of them have crashed. STi's come with AYC ....
