'92 RS vs Mid 90's Bonneville/GrandPrix
So I am just doin my thing on a Saturday Night and I just pull out of the gas station and I come to a light and a 4-Door Mid 90's Bonneville/Grand Prix pulls up next to me. Looks like a 16 Year Old First Time Driver (A Girl) and there are 4 other guys packed into the rest of the car.
So they roll next to me and a guy in the backseat starts talkin crap... I saw his lips moving but I couldn't really hear over the Solobarics in the back
We pull up the next light and I glance over and the girl gives a smirk... so I toss a rev up to about 4000 at her to see what she does. No I noticed that the car was an SSEI... and I know that the SSEI's aren't slow, I've ridden in my friend's Bonneville SSEI and that thing can move for a FWD Sedan.
So the girl just stares forward... so I just turn the music back up and chill, because it seems like the doesn't want any. The light turns green, the chick chirps her tires and flys off... I wasn't even ready for it and I try to stomp it and keep up. (Automatic + 305 doesn't exactly mean a good launch
) I manage to stay up to about 45 and I shut down to turn off and the guy in the back seat goes "Later Bitch!"
(fade out the obligitory whistle as I shake my head in disgust)
Wait a second... we were racing?
So Anyways... I know that they aren't naturally aspirated, but exactly how much are these "SSEI" Pontiac 4-Doors really pushing? Any opinions on whether I could take one or if I should just save my dignity and not even mess with it
Later Days,
-Joe Bliz

(Motortrend);
'92 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi 3.8V6/4A/fwd 205/4200(hp)
260/2600(torque) 8.1(0-60) 16.1/86.4 mph(quarter)
Considering there were 5 people in the SSEi ( approx. 700 lbs conservatively) makes up for her head start, and considering you couldn't catch up.....I'd say you got owned (sorry to say).
You're probably better off turning up that 700 lbs of stereo equipment in your RS and cruise

The only way to find out who's fastest is if you and her line up at the track and go for a few runs! So I am not counting you out!

I have a 96 Oldsmobile LSS(same platform as the SSEi) with a series II 3.8, rated at 240hp from the factory. I put a cold air intake and swapped in a 3.4" pulley instead of the 3.8" pulley and I'm prettty sure it'll smoke my '90 LB9 Iroc.They are big cars but the 96 up series 2 motors haul *** especially with a couple hundered bux in mods.
