92Z28 vs 97Z28
I got a guy wanting to race me in his 97 Z28 just wondering if u guys think I can take him or not. He has a LT1 with Cold Air, 6-Speed, cut-out and I think 3:73 gears.
Copy of his Dyno sheet http://members.rogers.com/yacko/DCP02280.JPG
He has 275.3 RWHP and 308.0 RWTQ
I am told his best 1/4 is 13.8 but thats word of mouth. U think I got him?

If he dynoed that and is only running 13.8, then he isn't that good of a driver. You should be him.
When my 96 WS6 dynoed at 274rwhp and 305rwtq, I ran 13.18@104.9 on a 1.87. Mods were K&N, 160 thermo, air foil, HPP+, 4.10 gears. Without the gears and HPP+, I ran 13.50@103.9 on a 2.0. All runs were on GSC's.
Unless he gets some traction and shifts, you got him.

Well, the TPI is all thats stock
Gunna upgrade that this winter I hope.
383 Stroker with 9:1 compression set up for boost, just dont have the ATI on it.
AFR 190cc heads and small XE256H cam. Gunna upgrade the cam this winter also.
1.6 Pro Magnum RR's and SLP 1 3/4 headers and Dynomax cat back.
Stock T-5 with 3:42's in the rear.

I think it is going to be close. You have the torque to get him off the line but I think he is going to catch up really quick judging by how fast your power falls after 3500rpm. That LT1 has a flatter power curve and should catch up once that TPI is choked out. Upgrade your plenum and runners and you will have a deamon there.

Well we are gunna find out this SUNDAY, should be fun
I also got a rematch against an 97 SS I killed 3 times in a row (his best was a 14.7 :P ) and a 89 GTA too on Sunday.
Also got called out by a 1998 Black WS6 TA M6 with Dyno: 314 RWHP / 330 RWTQ Best ET: 13.551 @ 106.12 (2.18 60')
Should be a good one. He got me last time, that was his 13.5, I ran a 13.7, I had him till the end, darn LS1 power

You like you are right at stock LS1 territory now. Especially edging out that WS6. That video aslo looks like how LS1 cars run against LT1's. About a half second ahead. Good job man, but fear the modded LS1

Good kills, man. Man wait till you get a stealram/SR/MR and a cam about the size of the XE 288 you're going to get about 100rwhp more. With those cubes go at least 230 dur on the int. side. Those heads will love it.

Thanx guy's.
Kool, I was planning on goung with the miniram and charging it origanaly hence the low compression.
New intake/cam setup would of been on this winter but I kinda blew my trany at the track. Limped home with only 5th so now my clutch is screwed too. U'd be amazed how many peeps wanted to race me on the way home, its like they knew I was limping and couldnt race.
On a good note she got me home and no tow truck bill.
So thinking Tremec TKO or that G-Force rebuild kit next. Might still have enuff $ left over for the new intake/cam.
Oh and both the LT1 and the LS1 are modded car's. Just some bolt on's, but not 100% stock either. So that makes me feel good.
