Terrible Night
I got my @$$ handed to me last friday night. My bro just got my car tuned so I thought I'd take it out for a little spin. The 383 made short work out of the ricers and the wannabes but I wanted to run with the real cars. Came up on a new SS, he kept taking off before me, never really got a good race out of it. Next was a Fox body Mustang, same thing happened with him. Then I came up against another new SS...with a familiar whistle coming from the exhaust. We got a good race from a 25 mph roll...I kept up with him through 2nd gear. Found out later he had just had his turbo installed that day...he was nice. Last race was with a brand new GT...my girlfriend knows a lot about mustangs (having dated a mustang freak for 4 years before me) and she swore that he had a lot done to his car than what it looked like. We get some open road and open it up...I got r@p#!. I was about to pull up and ask what he had when he started with the insults. Just when I started thinking mustang drivers were ok, all of the disgust for them came back. I blame this on the 2.73 open rear...not on the motor. Luckily my bro wants my 2.73 for his camaro and his is willing to part with the 3.42's from his...all I'll need is a locker and hopefully I won't be seeing anymore taillights!

Good run with the SS. Sorry about the Mustang. I always assume drivers are courtious after racing, but its not always true. Also, I always thought you had to let a turbo run a couple hundred miles before flooring it, like a new engine. I guess I was wrong
