Raced a Fox-body stang.

My guess was it was about an 84-86, he said he put a cam in it, and had some head work done, but other then that I dunno, it was a 5 speed though. Anyway raced about 4 times, once from a redlight. From the redlight a spun a little too much, but still got about a car, car and half in front, and it stayed like that until about 85mph, where he'd start to walk me (damn TPI). We also hit it from about 10mph.. same outcome, and from around 35mph a couple times also same outcome... i'd always get the jump by about a car, and he'd catch back up at higher speed and start to pass me. He said he ran 9.20's in the 1/8th and that is believable, but his 1/4 mile time would def. be better then mine, and it was evident at around 75-85 where he'd pull on me. All in all it was in good fun, the mustang owner was really cool... 3rd mustang owner I've raced that has been pretty cool. There needs to be more though... some stang owners can be ****** at times...

Nice race. What does you 1/8th work out to in the 1/4? Like a 14.7 right?

Just curious, but if you ported out the runners and plenum a little bit, would it help out at all with the higher speeds, or would it just help out the torque for lower speeds?

As far as I understand It would help out in the higher rpms, because it allows the intake to suck in more air. I have no idea how much it would help, but I have to replace my EGR valve so I'll probably hog it out a little while it's off. Yeah TPI is cool for torque but it just doesn't cut it at higher rpm's.. that's why this summer comes LS1/T56 swap
