Big wreck on H-1 today
It's a known problem area - I hear them all the time whenever I'm in Waipahu. Two Eclipses (the picture I could make out showed one had some bling rims) going at it, one smashed into a flatbed truck, burst into flames (must've hit the truck's gas tank) then the other one hit it, according to police. Four dead. Two taken to the hospital. Freeway was shut down for hours.
If I had gone to work today, I would've actually seen the aftermath.
And it's not like we don't have a track on the Island, either...

I was driving home at 10:30 pm that night and some racer boys were acting dumb on the H1. I was ignoring them cuz they were trying to instigate so they take off weaving in and out of traffic. So dumb!! After a while I get next to one of the guys from the Drift Session (cool guy) and we're cruzing with the traffic. Anyway, we're comming up H1 going over Red Hill and traffic came to a stop. Some guy got hit! I later found out that the guy tried to run across the freeway (?!?!) and was hit by someone under the influence of alcohol driving a grey pickup truck. The body was laid out and everything. I told my girlfriend it was a sober reminder that street racing is dangereous (I thought it was racing related when I first saw it). Who would have thought that almost 5 hours later (around 3:00 am), further on down the SAME road, those two Esclipses would crash into that State truck while racing and cause a huge explosion and fire that kills 4. I heard all the people in both Esclipses were military. My guess is they had just gotten out of the club/bar and were racing back to the base. Very sad indeed. Sad for the innocent people in that State truck and possibly innocent passengers in either car that wanted it to stop. I think burning to death is the worst way to go.
I got no feelings for the people that were driving. I admit that I play on the freeway sometimes too, but never around other cars or people. Especially a state truck setting up cones for the HOV lane (going like 25 mph in a 55 zone on the inside lane). It was just a very bad decesion on their part.

That's too bad and all but this isn't thirdgen related. I'm certain there's an accident report board on autoweb or one of those other larger message boards.
