ws6?
Does anyone know the quarter mile time of a '96 Trans Am WS6? A freind just got one and I need to know what Im up against. I just got my hands on a bone stock 89 350 z28, and obviously I intend to mod the **** out of it, but I just need to know where I stand up against this guy.

He'll run low 14's easy. A few good bolt-ons and you could run right even with him.

Yeah your lookin at a mid to high 13 second car, and yours (depending on gearing) is probably a low 14 second car so a few bolt ons and youll run with him.

i dunno shifty, usually i tend to agree with you, but this time i might just argue for fun. you know i had the Iroc and it had a fairly stock L98, nothing but what's in the sig and like i told you, your z28 and the Iroc where pretty close on the bottom, but you had lots more top. so if they kid in the WS6 cant drive all that spectacular it could be a good race, because if he cant launch, assuming it's a 6 speed, and you get a good one you will jump out to an early lead with him realin u in towards the end. but you never really know until you go out and try, for all you know the car might be beat to hell and run like poo... but just go out and see where you stand. i think with full exhaust, and a few other well placed dollars you will give him a great run if he's stock.

But if the guy is new to the world of a 6 speed than he may not drive it to its potential and the L98 guy just has to keep his foot down. It could be close if there is a lack of experience banging gears at 5900rpm. Supreme Member

Is what i mean is if it is a 6 spd, and the kid cant drive it, he wont be fast. I say this because i watched a 01 cobra run a 15 mid. Yes IT was in fact a cobra, i looked under the hood. HE could not drive worth crap. So if the kid is this horrible (which i doubt he is) then it shouldnt be a problem

I had a 96 WS6 Formula and clicked off a 13.5@103.9 the only time I had it to the track when it was stock. It had about 3K miles on it back then. With 4.10 gears, HPP+, K&N, 160 thermo, air foil, and 1LE driveshaft, it went down to 13.18@104.9.
If he knows how to drive, you should need quite a few mods to keep up. If he doesn't, then you should be pretty close.

yeah it should be a easy low 14 sec car with bad driver, with a great run he could easily be in the low to mid 13's. So with a few bolt-ons on your l98, it should be a great race. Keep us updated.
