how close to the LS1 am I? *UPDATE*
I dynoed with Cat-Back and some little stuff 251hp and 309lb.ft.
After that i added a Vortech S/C. according to their site i should have now about 330hp...
Is this realistic? how close to the LS1-engine should i be?
Any suggestions what my track-times could be?
Since we don't have a race track in Switzerland I can't just go and test...
Thanks alot
Pat

Horsepower wise, very close if not better than a stock LS1.
Torque wise, you'd blow an LS1 away. Should be in the 430-450ish range. That's about 100 more than a stock LS1
Times would probably be low-mid 12's with traction. I ran a 12.1@111 on a 1.69 dynoing 318/455 at the wheels.

204 to the wheels would be about a mid 14 with some traction. Add the SC on and you are probably 300+ to the wheels. This is good for easy low 13s on street rubber! You might want to make sure the trans and rear can handle that but you should have a stock LS1!

my previous car white 5.7gta was able to run dead even with him.then again,i was sprayin 180shot on my gta.
If he didnt shift very good i was able to gain a carlenght.Lots of people on this forum wouldnt believe that, but when we meet, there will be guys which have witnessed those races and will prove you that im not bsing.the z28 has also installed the big blue bottle(100shot).should have been a suprise for you
,but now its public..the z28 runs dead even with that viper, too. If you hang around in Zürich, youve seen that viper for sure.01model,black,convertible with hardtop and veeery loud.straight thru exhaust,no cats.

I'd like to think that I rekindled the flame.
Just don't be stupid, fellas. Have a safe race, and be sure to let us know all the details.

not bad for an old car, but...
So we finally meet last night!
We raced different times, from a stop and from a roll.
From a stop I had a hard time keeping up since his car is an auto.
From a roll we figured out that when i had it at 3k rpm I was even with him until i had to shift.
gta on juice did some vids and hopefully will post it soon along with some detailed infos.

first of all,i have to say pat has an awesome looking car.veeery nice 3rd gen.the sound of the supercharger is very cool.hes got alot of looks in the city..ok,now about the race.from a dig,the ls1 with its 3.73gears and auto trans came out of the hole faster than the 305tpi with 2.73s(my guess)manual trans, which is very hard to launch.but the moment where the 3rdgen hit 3krpm,they are even, performance wise.then comes the shift, the tpi falls way back down in the rpms, whereas the ls1 revs up quicker and never falls beyond 3k rpms between shifts.thats the difference.performance wise, they are about the same.the ls1 z28 has just a better setup.if pat put other gears and headers in his car,he should kill that one with ease.going to post one or two vids as soon as possible.

just wondering if it was true cause GM rates em at like 325 at the flywheel

so i would say i'm somewhere in the 320+ to the wheels range...with just a cutout

It's true for some cars, esp m6's since an auto eats more hp.
Depending on the dyno and weather also. My car made 307hp when new with just a lid/cutout and it's an auto.

most third gens are anywher from 200 to 300 lbs lighter than a 4th gen depending on options I droped a stock lt1 into my 91 rs with headers and chip and the last time I hit the track I ran even with a 02 vette

An LT1 w/ headers and chip in a 1991 Camaro RS, WILL NOT run neven with a 2002 Vette.......Unless it's a driver error and the guy driving the vette has no idea what he's doing....
That vette has every advantage over your set-up (weight, power, suspension, etc, etc)
My LS1 w/ custom exhaust(stock manifolds) and a cold air intake put nearly 308 HP to the wheels (T56), with the nitrous.....373 HP to the wheels....

Only the 93 models did. But if you can't beat um join em. Just like Flyin did. He has the best of both worlds now
