well he also has the advantage of all wheel drive, of course he can still lose traction but its a lot harder to do so, man awd would be so much fun!

1.19 60' with 430 awhp? I definately wanna see that timeslip. You sure you didn't see his reaction time? I'm not calling you a liar by any means, but 1.19 60s in an awd is almost unheard of with 430 awhp. (at least I've NEVER seen it)

Nice death though. Eclipses can be very fast for very cheap.

BTW awd is fun, but its tough comparing to getting the *** out with rwd. Yeah awd has traction, but doughnuts are few and far between unless you have money to spare.

im guessin he would know he would lose if we did it from a dig. but his girl was impressed. just means i gotta get a new engine. ill put the elco one in the camaro and build up a nice 406 with a lil nitrous.
if i gave hime 2 lengths from a stop. do you think i woulda had him.

That's the beauty of street combat, sometimes you need to have excess power to deal with those situations.

I had my TA running pretty good, sometimes people would try something cheap and I'd still win....it was fun.

Eclips is decent car though, this guy skipped the stickers and did real mods too. Racing from a stop puts alot more wear and tear on the tranmission and motor, especially in a FWD. He probably just wants his car to last.

Just wondering....if it is fair for you to race from a stop, why shouldn't it be also fair to race from an even pace? You would have the same rolling advantage, whether you car could benifit from it, that's another story. If your car is only good for getting traction and good acceleration out of the hole, but can't accelerate anyehere else...what real fun is it?

A race is a race right?

yea but at 20 mph or so have no speedo just guessing. it is at the bottom of 2nd gear and 1st gear is my main gear for winning. normally ill just race for the first 60 or so feet or untill i hit 2nd by that time 99% of the time at least the cars are 2 or so lengths back and i just shut down so a roll is taking my advantage away. and street/strip racing use to mean and still does to me from a stop not from a roll

1.1 and below is simply impossible. Those are top fuel times.

Where I come from, a dogfight occures at any place...any speed.

If 1st gear is your winning gear....shift into 1st! Chances are you'd be long gone from a 20 mph roll....(just don't forget to get back into second quickly)

If you don't have a ratchet shifter, I would highly recomend one for that very purpose. I had the B&M mega shifter, it worked perfectly well for me.

I agree the 700R4 has a tall 1st gear, I always enjoyed the second gear myself.
